I have been writing though, and reading as much as I can. I’m rather obsessive about reading, and if the story is good I just can’t stop reading until I reach the end, or the last of what has been written. Lately my reading has been more focused on time travel stories. I prefer the re-do type, especially if they include part of TDH (The Deathly Hollows) but omit the Epilogue, or have Harry and Ginny divorce. Never liked the pairing, and was very disappointed that in TDH Rowling got them together, but it’s done, and thank good for fanfiction since I can read other outcomes.

Iycorner Update
Author: alandremMar 15
I know I wrote that I would update iycorner about four days ago, but I haven’t got around doing it yet. I did solve the memory problem I had for running Wordpress, and I finally have all the plugins working, but I have yet to re install Wordpress.
Sites Troubleshooting
Author: alandremMar 11
For a while now I have been having problems with my Wordpress installations. Iycorner.net, alandrem.net, and a couple more that were simply tests for my fic lists. The problem was that I didn’t have enough memory for the pllugins that I require for the sites.

Terremoto en Chile/Earthquake
Author: alandremFeb 27
I’m terribly shocked by what happened to Chile today. An earthquake of that magnitude is not frequently seen, and to be truthful when I read the SMS with the news this morning I could not believe it. I turned on the TV and could only stare at the images they were showing.
There is more information now, and I’m pleasantly surprised by the solidarity and respect of the other countries. They are waiting for Chile to have some idea of the damages they have and decide if and what type of help they need. I’m also very surprised by how the buildings withstood the damage of an 8.8 earthquake, when a 7.0 destroyed Haiti’s capital, and other cities. Even the number of victims cannot compare even though I believe it will get much higher. But it’s almost a certainty that it won’t be nearly as large as those they had in Haiti. From what I have been able to gather, Chile is well prepared for earthquakes since they have the record of the highest magnitude quake in history. The 1960 quake was 9.5

Present Time News

Real life has gotten on the way of working on any of my stories for the moment. I have my elderly grandmother to take care of, and she requires constant attention as well as two people to move her on her bed. She is a very heavy woman, probably around 140 kilos (around 280 pounds) so at least two people must be around at all times. Her mind is also starting to fail, and most of the times refuses to eat or drink anything. This has us very worried, and the only thing we can see that might be positive on the whole thing is that she’ll loose some weight making it easier to move her when needed.
To add to the problem my mother just caught pneumonia, and she has always been an hyperactive woman unable to stay still for long. So I have to divide my time between my grandma, and making sure my mother is not doing anything but resting. Not an easy thing, she gets bored and tired of resting. Hopefully my mother will get better soon, although she barely escaped ending hospitalized because of her illness.
There is little hope my grandma will get off the bed. She is 84 almost 85, and her age has caught up with her. But I believe I will be able to start working on my stories once I have adapted to the situation. We’ve hired a couple of nurses to help, and with any luck the muses will make a come back and I can find the time and will to write again.

Star Wars (John Williams Is The Man)’ medley – a cappella tribute [Closed Captioned]
Author: alandremJan 14
This I saw recommended on a tv program today, and I just could not pass posting it. I loved it. Whether he is the one singing or not doesn’t matter, I think it was extremely amusing.
I’m a big Star Wars fan since the first movie came out. I actually saw it back then for the first time. Right now I’ve probably watched Star Wars Episode IV around 30 times, and I never tire of it.
I’m not that much of a fan of the whole Anakin Skywalker trilogy though, but I’ve read around 40 of the Expanded Universe books. Well here is the video.
Flowers
Author: alandremJan 3
One of my hobbies is to take photos of flowers. This began as a way to have more backgrounds for my computers’ desktops. So far I don’t have that great a variety of photos as I mostly take photos of the flowers in my garden. I also don’t know the names of each plant, althought I’m going to research them. I am not the one who selects what to plant, and my mother juest goes for the beauty of the flower and never checks the name. So here is the first of my collection. I’ll try to post at least one a day. Knowing me I might not post in days, but hey, it’s my new year’s purpose to be more consistent with my posting.

Lucas

This is a phot of my previous cat, Lucas. It’s real name was Jean Luc, but it was too long so we shortened to Lucas or sometimes Huevo. It lived quite a bit, 16 years to be exact. Even though he has been gone for over a year -he died of Feline Lukemia- he is sorely missed.

Yet again here goes another attempt at blogging.
I was quite pleased with how the blog was working, but suddenly it started showing a blank page and I could not access the dashboard anymore. I tried several things until I finally decided to re-install and start over again. I’m not sure, but I suspect part of the problem with wordpress then was the syndication plugin I was using. It was great, but I cannot find it anymore, so maybe it was discontinued or something.
